“All hard work brings a profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty.”

As an undergrad at the University of Florida, Brian served as a student assistant with the strength and conditioning staff, working primarily with the Florida baseball, softball, and football teams. After graduating from Florida with a Bachelor's degree in Health Education, he served stints as an intern strength and conditioning coach at the University of South Florida as well as The Ohio State University. His time at both schools allowed him the opportunity to work with over 30 different varsity sports teams.

Brian eventually accepted a position as a graduate assistant strength and conditioning coach at the University of South Carolina, where he had the opportunity to work with the back-to-back national champion Gamecocks baseball team, in addition to the cross-country, men/women swimming and diving teams, and the men's and women's soccer teams. In addition to his collegiate strength and conditioning experience, Brian has over 5 years of experience as a 1-on-1 personal trainer.

Prior to coming to Balance Gym, Brian was Assistant Director at Performance Edge in Leesburg, VA, where he worked with youth, high school, and collegiate athletes, in addition to working with general fitness populations. Outside of training, Brian is always looking for something to compete in. Over the years Brian has been a collegiate rugby player, in addition to being a competitor in CrossFit, Spartan Race, Olympic Weightlifting, the USMC Mud Run, and a host of trail races including the 18-mile Shut-In Ridge Race in Asheville, NC. Brian holds a Master of Sports Science in Sport Fitness and Health, and is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association, in addition to being a Level 1- certified Precision Nutrition Coach.
